How we handle your information

Privacy Policy

Effective October 9, 2026 · Last updated October 9, 2026

Engler is a small website design business run by three college students in Redding, California. This policy explains what information we collect through englerwebsites.com and when you contact us, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to our contact form, our order form (project questionnaire), and messages you send us by email, phone, or text.

What we collect

When you use our contact form, we collect what you choose to enter: your name, email address, phone number (optional), business type, and details about your project.

When you fill out our order form, we collect the answers you give about your business and your project. This can include your business name and details, the names, roles, email addresses, and phone numbers of the people we'll work with, your brand information (such as colors, fonts, and logos), the features and pages you want, and any files you upload, such as logos or images.

When you email or text us, or talk with us on a scheduled call, we receive whatever you send, along with your email address or phone number. You may also choose to email us files for your project.

When you visit the site, the companies that host and deliver it automatically receive basic technical information, such as your IP address and browser type, as part of loading the pages (see "Services we use" below). We don't use this information to identify you.

How we use it

We use your information only to respond to your inquiry, prepare a quote, plan and build your website, and communicate with you about your project. We do not sell or rent your information, and we don't use it for advertising.

Services we use

We share information only with the services we rely on to run this site and receive your messages. Each one handles it under its own privacy policy:

  • FormSubmit delivers contact form messages to our email inbox.
  • Google stores order form submissions (Firebase), stores files you upload (Google Drive), and hosts our email (Gmail). Our pages also load their fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser connects to Google when you visit.
  • GitHub hosts this website. Like most web hosts, it may log visitors' IP addresses for security and to keep the site running.

We may also share information if the law requires it.

Discussing your project

Before we begin any work, we'll talk with you directly about what we can and can't do with any information, files, images, or other content you provide for your website, so there are no surprises about how your materials are used.

Once your website is live

Once we publish your website, anything you choose to include on it — text, images, contact details, or anything else — becomes public and visible to anyone who visits the site. This is separate from the private information you share with us during the inquiry process, which is never published without your knowledge.

Cookies, analytics, and saved drafts

We don't use analytics, advertising trackers, or tracking cookies on this site. The one thing we store in your browser is a draft of your order form answers, so you don't lose your progress if you leave the page. That draft stays on your own device and isn't sent to us until you submit the form. You can remove it at any time by clearing your browser's site data.

Do Not Track

Some browsers can send a "Do Not Track" signal. Because we don't track visitors across other websites or over time, there's nothing for that signal to switch off. The site works the same whether or not it's turned on.

Demo websites in our showcase

The sample websites on our Showcase page are demonstrations only. Some of them, such as the perfume subscription demo, let you add items to a cart or create an account, and may save that information in your browser or in a demo database. Nothing is actually sold or shipped. The bakery demo's contact form sends messages to the Engler team through FormSubmit, the same way our own contact form does. Please don't enter real personal, payment, or sensitive information into the demos.

How long we keep it

We keep your information only as long as it's needed to respond to your inquiry or complete your project, and to keep basic records of the work we've done. If you'd like us to delete your information at any point, just let us know and we will.

Reviewing or correcting your information

You can ask to see the information we have about you, correct it, or have it deleted. Just email us at support@englerwebsites.com, and we'll take care of it.

Keeping it secure

We take reasonable steps to protect your information, such as limiting who on our team can access it and using reputable services to store it. However, no method of sending or storing information over the internet is 100% secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.

Children's privacy

Our services are meant for business owners and are not directed to children under 13. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we'll delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll post the new version on this page and update the date at the top. If a change significantly affects how we use information you've already given us, we'll let you know by email.

Questions

If you have any questions about this policy or how your information is handled, email us at support@englerwebsites.com or text us at (530) 691-2191.
